01 // Agreement
What you are agreeing to
By creating an account or using FieldLink, you accept these terms and the Privacy Policy that goes with them. If you set up the account for a contracting business, you confirm that you are allowed to agree on its behalf.
FieldLink is sold to contractors in every blue-collar trade, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, low voltage, elevator, concrete, framing, carpentry, roofing and mechanical. Nothing in these terms is specific to one trade.
You must be at least 18 to hold an account.
02 // Where we stand
We never sell your data
Our whole business is the flat price contractors pay for FieldLink. Your records are not a second product. We do not sell personal information to data brokers, advertisers or anyone else, at any price, and there is no version of this product in which that changes.
No advertising and no trackers. No advertising network, no tracking pixel, no third-party analytics package and no crash-reporting service in FieldLink.
Your company owns its records. We only process them. We use them to run FieldLink for you and to help when you ask. We do not mine them to build a profile of anyone, and we do not sell such a profile as "insights".
FieldLink support can enter your account, and every entry and exit is recorded. A named FieldLink administrator does this to help you, with the same access as one of your admins, never HR.
We never volunteer anything to a government. Nothing is handed to any federal, state or local government without valid legal process served on us. We narrow each demand to exactly what the law compels and push back on any that reaches past a fair reading. Wherever the law allows, we tell the company whose records are being demanded. No standing arrangement, no bulk feed and no back door.
The Privacy Policy sets all of this out in full, including what FieldLink never collects in the first place.
03 // Trial
The 14-day trial
Every new company starts with a 14-day free trial of every module. Every plan includes everything, so nothing is held back for a higher plan.
No card is asked for and no card is stored. We will email you before the trial runs out.
If a trial ends without a plan, people can no longer work in the account, but the records stay where they are. Nothing is deleted because a trial ended.
04 // Price
Plans, prices and why nothing is charged yet
One flat price for the whole company. You are not billed per user, and modules are not sold separately. You pick a plan for the size of your crew, from 10 users up to 200, and each plan has one price, monthly or yearly.
Yearly is twelve months for the price of ten. Yearly billing is two months free, paid up front. You choose monthly or yearly at sign-up and can ask us to change it later.
Above 200 users, the price is a quote. We do not show a price for a custom size until we have talked about what you need. Write to admin@sagetechfieldlink.com.
The current prices are on the product page, which we keep up to date. The prices are not copied here, so this page can never disagree with it.
Today, nothing is charged at all. FieldLink has no card form, no invoices and no billing processor connected. We are not taking money while the product is being finished. Before that changes, we will tell every account in the app and by email, and nobody will be charged without first agreeing to a price.
When billing does start, a subscription will renew for the same period unless it is canceled before the renewal date, and a cancellation will take effect at the end of the period already paid for. We will explain refunds plainly before asking anyone for money, and any taxes that apply will be added.
If we change a price, we will give at least 30 days’ notice by email, and it will never take effect inside a period you have already paid for.
05 // Accounts
Accounts, employees and passwords
Your plan sets how many people can be in the account. You can switch off or remove anyone in it.
You are responsible for what everyone you invite does in FieldLink, and for keeping passwords private. If you think an account has been taken over, tell us right away at support@sagetechfieldlink.com.
The owner runs the company’s account. Owners and admins set roles, access levels of their own and permissions, turn modules on and off for each person and answer requests to delete an employee’s account. Only the owner can hand the company over to someone else. We act on what the owner asks for.
Owners and admins can open Phone settings. An owner or an admin in the company’s account can look at another employee’s FieldLink phone as that person sees it, while staying signed in as themselves. Changes, photos, this computer’s location and sending a notice are blocked in the preview. The Privacy Policy says what they can see and what stays locked.
People who can open a list can search it and export it. Every list in FieldLink has search and an Export that downloads Excel or CSV of the matching rows the signed-in person can already see. What leaves the app that way follows the same role and money rules as the screen, and a Social Security number is never included. The Privacy Policy says what is in those files and what is recorded when one is made.
Employees ask before their accounts are deleted. An employee’s account holds your record of their hours, so they ask from Account settings, and an owner or admin approves or declines. The person can withdraw the request until it is answered. Approving deletes their sign-in; their punches, logs, receipts and photos stay with you.
Only the owner can ask to change the company’s name or web address. FieldLink staff review every request by hand. A new business name takes effect once the request is approved. Once a web address is changed, the old address forwards to the new one for 60 days. After 60 days the old address is released, and another company may take it.
Owners and customers delete their own accounts. Owners and customers do it in Account settings, without asking us. A company’s only owner must hand the company over or close it first.
Social Security numbers are yours to collect lawfully. If your company enters an employee’s Social Security number, it is responsible for having a lawful reason to collect and keep it, for telling the employee, for deciding who holds HR access, for deciding who may see the full number, and for taking it off file when it no longer needs it. FieldLink stores the number encrypted, shows the office only whether one is on file, lets only the owner and people granted See full Social Security numbers reveal it after an authenticator code, and records every time someone does.
An employee file is open to the employee. Only the owner and people with HR access add documents to it, and every document in it can be opened by that person after they type their account password again. Put nothing there you would not show them, and do not upload a Social Security card. Whether a document belongs in a personnel file, and how long to keep it, is your company’s decision under the laws that apply to it.
06 // Your data
Your records are yours
Everything your company puts into FieldLink belongs to your company. We do not claim it, sell it or use it to advertise. We use it to run FieldLink for you, keep it working and support you when you ask.
Anonymous totals, such as how many companies use a module or how often something is opened, are ours, and we use them to decide what to build next. The totals never name a company, person or job, and they are never sold.
The Privacy Policy sets out what we collect and who sees it. The two pages are written and updated together.
Ask us for a copy of your records, or for them to be erased, at any time. Closing a company keeps its records unless you ask us to erase them.
07 // Fair use
What you may not do
Do not use FieldLink to break the law or to harass, threaten or defraud anyone.
Do not try to reach another company’s data, probe for security holes or get around the limits of your plan or role. If you find a hole, tell us at support@sagetechfieldlink.com.
Do not falsify a record. Punching for someone who is not there, faking a clock photo and back-dating time are all misuse of FieldLink, and it refuses most of them anyway.
Do not resell FieldLink, rent out your seats or copy it to build a competing product.
Do not upload anything you have no right to, and do not store records that need protections FieldLink does not offer, such as medical records or full card numbers. The only government ID number FieldLink is built to hold is an employee’s Social Security number, in the field made for it on the employee’s card. Do not type one, or a driver’s license or other ID number, anywhere else: not in notes, answers, messages or job files. A document that shows one, such as a tax form or a copy of a license, belongs only in that person’s employee file, where it is protected like the rest of the file but is not encrypted the way the number field is.
Do not take a job’s drawings out of the File Vault. Prints, submittals, permits and change orders filed on a job are for the work on that job. FieldLink records who opens each one, and your office can read that record. Passing a drawing on, by photographing the screen or any other way, is misuse whether or not the app can stop it. Anything a general contractor or a project owner requires of your company about their drawings is between you and them.
Do not overload it. Automated flooding, scraping or anything else that degrades the service for other companies is not allowed.
Live tracking is your company’s choice. An owner or admin can switch them on to show where each person is while they are clocked in with the app open, once that person has agreed. Live positions start switched off for every company, and a company that uses them is responsible for using them only for work.
Keeping photo details is your company’s choice. Photos are made smaller and their hidden details removed unless an owner or admin turns that off. When a company keeps the details, FieldLink tells everyone in it, and the company keeps where and when each work photo was taken and is responsible for using them only for work.
Do not use location or photos to watch someone off the clock. FieldLink records where someone is when they punch and takes their photo at clock-in unless your company turns that off. FieldLink shows a live position while they are clocked in, if your company turns that on and they agree. Telling your crew, keeping to what you told them and following whatever your state requires, including any notice or consent, are your company’s responsibility, not ours. FieldLink collects nothing off the clock, and you must not look for a way around that.
08 // SMS
Text messages from Sagetech LLC
By opting in to SMS messages from Sagetech LLC, you agree to receive text messages for customer support, service updates and other communications related to your account.
Stopping the messages. You can cancel the SMS service at any time by texting STOP. After you send STOP, we will send one message confirming that you have been unsubscribed, and you will get no more after that. If you want to join again, sign up the same way you did the first time and we will start sending them again.
Getting help. If you are having trouble with the messaging program, reply HELP for more help, or get help directly at support@sagetechfieldlink.com or +1 (864) 263-2317.
Delivery. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
What it costs. Message and data rates may apply for any messages sent to you from us and to us from you. Message frequency varies. If you have questions about your text or data plan, contact your wireless provider.
Your number is never sold. Mobile numbers, opt-in data and consent are never shared for marketing. The only companies they are shared with are the aggregators and providers that carry the messages. The Privacy Policy says the same.
Today, the FieldLink app does not text anybody. No texting provider is connected to the product, and nothing in it sends an SMS. Every notice FieldLink sends today goes by email or as a notification in the app. The section covers the texts we will send about your account, and it is here so the rules are set before we turn texting on.
09 // Uptime
What we promise and what we do not
No uptime guarantee today, and no service credits. FieldLink runs on Supabase in the United States. We aim to keep it running around the clock, but we do not promise a percentage we have no track record for.
We will sometimes take it down for maintenance, and will keep it short and outside working hours where we can.
A punch taken with no signal is not lost. The punch waits on the phone and is sent, once, when the signal comes back, so a dead spot on a job site is not the same as an outage.
Backups. Our host backs up the database every day. The backup is a safety net for a disaster, not a restore service for one company, so if something is deleted by mistake, tell us quickly.
The product is still being built, and it changes often. We add features rather than remove them, and every change customers will notice is written up on the What’s New page. If we ever have to retire something, we will give notice in the app and by email.
10 // Support
How support works
Email us at support@sagetechfieldlink.com and a person reads it. We aim to answer within one business day, and faster when a crew cannot clock in.
Or call or text +1 (864) 263-2317 during business hours, Eastern time.
Accounts, billing and legal: legal@sagetechfieldlink.com.
Support is included in every plan. No support tier to buy, and a big company does not get faster answers than a three-truck shop.
11 // Limits
Where our responsibility ends
FieldLink is provided as is. To the fullest extent the law allows, we make no warranties beyond what this page says: no promise that it is fit for a particular purpose, and no promise that it will never have a fault.
FieldLink is not your payroll provider, your accountant or your lawyer. FieldLink records hours and totals them by the overtime rule, shifts, pay week and holidays you choose. When you change your pay week, FieldLink’s payroll summary counts the first new week’s overtime so that nobody loses any in the switch. Paying people correctly, keeping the records your state requires and following wage, hour, break and safety law are your company’s responsibility. Check what the app produces before you pay anyone from it.
Your overtime rule is your company’s choice. Your company chooses its overtime rule, its shifts, who is salaried with no overtime, its holidays and what work on them is paid, and is responsible for following the law where its people work. Pay for a day off is up to your payroll. FieldLink’s warnings about state law are a help, not legal or payroll advice.
FieldLink AI is a helper, not an authority. FieldLink reads receipts, including a pump display when there is no paper receipt, and tidies notes, and it can make mistakes. A pump receipt is checked by the person before it is kept. The fuel tax split on one uses published rates and can be incomplete, and it is not a tax return. Whoever asks for a tidied note always sees it before it is kept, and the original is never overwritten. Check what it produces.
The File Vault has limits. A file in it opens inside the app and is never handed to the phone, with no Save, no Share, no Print and no link that could be forwarded. Every opening is recorded, and the reader’s name and the time are drawn over the page. But the app cannot stop a second phone photographing the screen, and no product can. Do not file anything in it that would ruin you if someone photographed it.
We are not liable for indirect losses (lost profits, lost work, lost data or a job that went wrong), to the extent the law allows.
Our total liability for anything connected with FieldLink is limited to what your company paid us in the twelve months before the claim. While nothing is being charged, that figure is zero.
Nothing here removes a right you cannot legally give up, and none of it limits our liability for fraud or for injury caused by our own negligence.
You cover us for claims that arise from your own use of FieldLink: what your company put into it, or how it used what came out.
12 // Ending it
Stopping, suspending and closing
You can stop whenever you like. Delete your own account in Account settings or, if you are the owner, close the company. Closing takes thirty days: the owners are emailed, and any owner or admin can cancel it in that time. Employees ask to have their accounts deleted from the same place, and an owner or admin answers.
We can suspend an account that breaks these terms, puts other companies at risk or is used for something illegal. We will tell you why and give you a chance to put it right, unless the situation makes that impossible.
If we ever stop offering FieldLink, we will give at least 60 days’ notice and a way to get your records out before it goes.
Closing does not erase. Records stay unless someone asks for them to be erased. Nothing reopens a closed company.
13 // The rest
Changes and the law that applies
We will change these terms from time to time. The date at the top shows when they last changed. For a small change, we only update this page. For one that matters, such as price, liability or what we do with your records, we will tell every account in the app and by email before it takes effect. If you keep using FieldLink after that, you accept the change.
When the product changes, both legal pages change with it. A feature that collects something new is not finished until this page and the Privacy Policy say so.
Governing law. The terms are governed by the laws of the State of South Carolina, where Sagetech LLC is based, and any dispute belongs in the state or federal courts sitting in Spartanburg County, South Carolina. If that does not work for your business, tell us before you sign up.
If one part of these terms turns out to be unenforceable, the rest still stands.
You may not hand this agreement to someone else without asking us. We may hand it on if the business is sold, and we will tell you if we do.
The terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between us about FieldLink.
