What we count
When you open one of our public pages, your browser makes up a random ID and keeps it in its own storage. The ID is made from nothing about you or your device. We count the page, the website that linked you here, whether you are on a phone, a tablet or a computer, and the country, state and city our hosting network reports.
The ID is the only way we can tell four pages read by one person from four people reading one page. The ID carries no name, no email and no account, and your IP address is never stored.
We use nothing else: no advertising network, no Google Analytics, no Facebook pixel and no crash reporter. Nothing is sold or handed to a data broker.
Turning it off costs you nothing. The pages work exactly the same, and signing in, signing up and resetting a password are not affected.

Where your choice is kept
Your answer is kept in this browser, beside the ID. The choice does not follow you: another computer, another browser or the same browser on your phone each start again, because there is no account to attach the answer to.
Clearing your site data, or reading these pages in a private window, clears your answer along with everything else.
Turning counting off deletes the ID in this browser. Turning it back on makes a new one, so nothing you did before is joined to anything you do after.
Everything else
The page covers our public website only. What a contractor keeps in FieldLink - hours, jobs, photos, receipts - belongs to that contractor, and the privacy policy says who sees it and why.
